The most expensive Patek Philippe

Christies international has said it has sold a one of a kind Patek Philippe from 1944 for the equivalent of $5.7 million,the highest price paid for a yellow gold wristwatch at auction.
The 18ct gold chronograph which has a calander that adjusts for leap years and displays the phases of the moon.
The watch is the "Mona Lisa of the 21st century wrist watches in private hands"said Aurel Bacs the auctioneer who took the bidding,which involved six bidders on three continents.
Christies considers this to be the second highest price for a wristwatch at auction.Antiqurum the Geneva based watch auction has claimed the highest price.
The highest prtce for a watch is held by a Patek Philippe pocket watch and not a wrist watch selling at $11 million at Sotherbys auction.
